Yesterday four LAA members visited the VFW hall in Lapeer to meet the Press and the volunteers from the Home Depot company that had come along to paint the outside of the building. As I posted previously in Art in the Community a few LAA artists will be painting a mural, to honour our service men and women, on the newly painted building.
The Home Depot company are supplying the materials and their volunteers supplied some good old fashioned hard work! You did a great job guys and girls.
Interviews with Krystal Johns of Lapeer County Press. Here she is talking to LAA artists and Wayne from the VHF who first approached Sharon in Gallery 194 looking for artists to paint a mural. Sharon suggested some artists in the LAA would like to volunteer – and here we are. Thank you Home Depot volunteers for preparing the canvas.
The Home Depot volunteers made the day a family affair, proving you are never too old or too young to make a difference. One beautiful little girl happy in her work –
A thorough job, no board left unpainted –
One of the Service Seals that will be fixed to the front of the building; the Navy seal hand painted by Caren Huizenga. I can hardly wait to see them all finished and in their places.
From left to right, LAA members Jacqueline Beauvais, Kathy Cassell, Caren Huizenga and Sharon Lee Samyn. More photos to follow – watch this space.
GREAT JOB LADIES!!!!!
Thanks ^_^
